Our 5yo loves this backpack. He's used it for 2 weeks at a wilderness summer camp and it holds all the things - lunchbox, extra clothes, towels, etc, and the little detachable piece is perfect for snacks. His water bottle stays put too, which is often a problem for smaller packs. I think the straps that come with the accessory pack will be super useful for smaller excursions where he wants to bring something but doesn't need a full backpack. It's already in need of a good wash and we're looking forward to him trying it out on a flight soon, and then kindergarten!

Perfect for my 7yo

We got this for a birthday present for our son. It’s the perfect size for him and he loves the patches are moveable. He can pack his cars or legos in the front pouch to move around the house and then easily attach it to his backpack when he’s ready to go. Zippers and clips all feel well made and he also likes the safety whistle on the chest clip. His folder, lunch box and water bottle all fit well with ample room to shove his coat in at the end of the day.
